Walnut Ink Series
This series is an ongoing project whereby I am revisiting many of my favourite views of the Barbican employing walnut ink. It seemed an odd choice for me at first because I am so used to working primarily from a sense of colour and my reversed and recycled palette papers provide me with an existing palimpsest on which I apply more colour. Nevertheless, walnut ink with its many shades and tones depending on how much water is used to dilute it, is proving to be a satisfying part of my exploration of "the colour of concrete". These works are much larger than many of my palette paper works and have given me a greater freedom to tackle panoramic and bird's eye views.
